Skylights frame sweeping Parisian rooftops from both the living room and bedroom of this fifth-floor apartment in the 11th arrondissement – and on a clear day, you can spot the Eiffel Tower from the comfort of the sofa. You might be tempted to take advantage of the views and enjoy pastries from nearby bakeries at home – especially if you're remote working at the desk – but nearby neighbourhoods such as Oberkampf and Le Marais have a lively restaurant scene. Père Lachaise and the iron footbridges of Canal Saint-Martin are also within walking distance, and a quick hop on the metro brings you to the Champs-Élysées in just twenty minutes.

Home truths:
* At full occupancy, one guest will sleep on a sofa bed in the living area. The apartment is 28 sqm, so it works best for one or two guests.
* The lift in the building is notably small – it's practical for luggage, but may not suit all body types or oversized bags. There are also a few steps beyond the lift to reach the front door.
* You won't find an oven here – though there is a hob. We think the kitchen is better suited to prepping lighter bites than large meals.
* Key collection is via a lockbox a short walk from the apartment. Your host is also happy to meet you in person if that works better – just let them know in advance.
* Well-behaved pets are welcome to accompany you during your stay.
