The Paris Outlook

Perched on the top floor, this 2nd arrondissement studio offers an uninterrupted view of the Eiffel Tower – the kind of outlook you'll want to linger over, no matter the time of day. If you can pull yourself away from the panoramas (highly unlikely, we suspect), you'll find a mix of vintage and contemporary pieces inside, giving the whole pad a boutique-hotel feel. There's no kitchen, but with some of the city's finest restaurants and cafes nearby, you're unlikely to miss one. Opéra Garnier and Place Vendôme are also around five minutes away on foot, while the Louvre is only a fifteen-minute stroll.

Home truths:
* There's no kitchen here – just a pod coffee machine, kettle, and mini-fridge – so this home might not be the best option for everyone. That said, you'll find some of the area's best restaurants close by.
* The lift takes you to the sixth floor, and you'll climb two flights of stairs on foot to reach the apartment on the eighth. Bear that in mind if you're travelling with heavy luggage or have mobility considerations.
* This is a studio apartment, so the bedroom and living area all share the same open space. It's not the biggest home, but we think it works well for a couple – and the view speaks for itself.
