Tucked away on a quiet street between the 3rd and 11th arrondissements, this apartment puts some of Paris's most iconic squares within easy reach – Place des Vosges is a nine-minute walk, Place de la Bastille around eleven, and the Centre Pompidou eighteen minutes on foot. The ground-floor layout means no stairs once you're inside, and the open-plan living room is a great space to decompress after a day out. Richard Lenoir metro station is a one-minute walk away, making the rest of the city straightforward to explore.

Home truths:
* At full occupancy, four guests will sleep on the two sofa beds in the living area, though with ten people here, we think it might feel a little cramped.
* If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot. You'll need to request it in advance.
* As is common in France, in one of the bathrooms, the toilet is separate from the bathroom.
* Parking in Paris can be tricky so we'd recommend using the metro to get around — Richard Lenoir station is practically on your doorstep.
