Sitting high above central Paris, this apartment makes an immediate first impression. There's breathing room for larger groups – a bright living space, four bedrooms, and a kitchen made for slow mornings before the city beckons. When it does, you'll find the Arc de Triomphe is around a ten-minute walk, the Champs-Élysées is a fifteen-minute stroll, and Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré – with Chanel, Hermès, and the rest – is ten minutes on foot. Ternes metro station is practically at the front door, so the rest of Paris is easily within reach.

Home truths:
* The lift only goes as far as the fifth floor – you'll need to carry your luggage up one further flight of stairs to reach the apartment. Worth keeping in mind if you're travelling with heavy bags, young children, or anyone with limited mobility.
* You're less than a ten-minute walk from the Champs-Élysées and the Arc de Triomphe, with the Louvre, Les Halles, and Hôtel de Ville all reachable on foot – a car is unlikely to be necessary during your stay.
* If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot. You'll need to request it in advance.
