A light-filled apartment in the heart of the 2nd arrondissement, this is Paris done properly – central enough to walk to the Louvre in twelve minutes, yet tucked into a neighbourhood with its own rhythm. The kitchen is set up for a slow morning before you head out, and the bright living room gives you a comfortable place to land when you get back. Families travelling with young children will appreciate the travel cot, and pets are welcome too. Three metro stations are within a seven-minute walk, so the rest of the city is never far.

* The apartment is on the first floor of a building with no lift, so you'll be carrying luggage up the stairs on arrival and departure.
* If you're travelling with a baby or toddler, your host can provide a travel cot. It's worth confirming in advance so everything is ready on arrival.
* The bathroom here has a Jack-and-Jill layout, meaning it can be accessed from either of the two bedrooms.
* You won't find an oven here – though there is a hob. We think the kitchen is better suited to prepping lighter bites than large meals.
