Tucked into a plant-filled courtyard off a quiet Saint-Germain street, this apartment offers something rare in central Paris – calm within one of the city's most celebrated neighbourhoods. Exposed timber beams and an internal staircase give it the intimate feel of a house, while the courtyard keeps street noise firmly at bay. Les Deux Magots, Café de Flore, and Le Bon Marché are all within a five-minute walk, the Musée d'Orsay is twenty minutes on foot, and the gourmet stretch of Rue du Bac is a twelve-minute stroll – an effortless base for the Left Bank at its best.

Home truths:
* The internal layout runs across multiple levels connected by small staircases – the bedroom is below the living room, and the bathroom is a further level down. It might not be the best option for those with reduced mobility or if you're travelling with very young children. The bedroom is also semi-open to the living space, so privacy may be limited.
* At full occupancy, one guest will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area.
* The apartment is on the ground floor of a quiet inner courtyard, which keeps noise low – but it does mean neighbours can see directly in if the curtains are open. You'll want to keep them drawn for privacy.
* Parking here can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to easily accessible public transport where possible.
