A calm, light-filled apartment on the edge of Paris, where a skylit bedroom and herringbone-floored living space make it easy to settle in properly. The kitchen opens into the main living area, so meals and evenings feel connected rather than separate, and air conditioning keeps things comfortable when the city heats up. Montreuil is well-placed for getting around – the Metro is within a ten-minute walk, with central Paris quickly within reach. For days at a slower pace, the medieval Château de Vincennes is a ten-minute walk away, and the vast Bois de Vincennes parkland is there when you need it.
Home truths:
* At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area.
* You're based in Montreuil, just outside the Paris city boundary, which means some of the central sights are a metro ride away rather than a stroll.
* The apartment is on the first floor with no lift, so you'll be using the stairs to reach it. Worth keeping in mind if you're travelling with heavy luggage or pushchairs.
* As is common in France, the toilet is separate from the bathroom.
