Perched on Calle Desengaño just off Gran Vía, this apartment puts you at the centre of Madrid with almost suspicious ease – lift access, parking available, and even pets welcome. The bright, open living space handles breakfast, cooking, and evening unwinding in one room, but it's the rooftop terrace where the city really earns its keep: a wide sweep of rooftops and skyline that's hard to leave once you're up there. A city balcony adds another vantage point for watching Madrid come to life in the morning.

* Upon arrival, you'll need to pick up the keys from your host's office.
* At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area.
* Though there's enough bed space for four people here, we think it might feel a little cramped. We'd recommend a maximum guest count of two.
* You won't find an oven here – though there is a hob. We think the kitchen is better suited to prepping lighter bites than large meals.
* Parking here can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to easily accessible public transport where possible.
