Once a drab Victorian townhouse, this home has been transformed by its designer hosts, and we couldn't help but be enraptured by it. There's plenty new here – authentic Chinese and Japanese prints adorn the walls, and Giacometti-inspired plaster pieces are found throughout – while original fixtures have been retained, with the wooden floors and windows shutters dating back to the 19th century. This careful consideration results in a home ideal for relaxation. The free-standing bath is a particularly nice touch – perfect after a day exploring nearby Notting Hill, Hyde Park, and Camden Town.

*Given the home's central spot, expect to hear some street noise throughout your stay. *You'll find expensive artwork and ornaments in this home, so it might not be the best choice if you're travelling with young children. *This is an apartment on the ground floor, making it ideal for those with reduced mobility. *If you're travelling for work, you won't find a dedicated desk here. However, the small living room table doubles up as a laptop-friendly workspace. *Parking in London can be tricky, so we recommend sticking to the easily accessible public transport where possible. That said, we think the best way to see the city is on foot.
