The town of Bolsover in Derbyshire has been around since before the time of the Domesday Book. English Heritage runs Bolsover Castle, the town's main attraction. This castle, perched high above the surrounding landscape, looks like something out of a fairy tale. Chesterfield, noted for the crooked spire of St. Mary and All Saints Church, is only 11 kilometres (7 miles) away.
