Description Sailing Serenade: Boca Raton

Perched right on the Boca Raton Intracoastal, this apartment puts the waterway front and centre – boats drift past while you're cooking, eating, or simply stretched out in the living room behind floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors. The shared pool, with its sun loungers and daybeds, makes it easy to lose an afternoon watching yachts go by. Lake Boca Raton and South Inlet Park are a five-minute walk away, and Mizner Park's restaurants and boutiques are just minutes beyond that – a easy base for both lazy days and livelier ones.

Home truths:
* You'll have one assigned, private parking space included with your stay – particularly handy if you're arriving with a rental car.
* You'll be sharing the laundry facilities with other residents rather than having a machine in the apartment itself – factor that in if you're planning longer stays or have heavy laundry needs.
* Pets are welcome to accompany you during your stay.
* There's no lift here. You'll need to be able to climb stairs to reach the entrance of the home.
* At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area.
