Pull back the doors on the upper level and the dining area opens to the same panorama, while the bedrooms on the lower floor wake you to open water framed by green hills. Daily housekeeping, a round-the-clock concierge, and on-request extras like a private chef mean the hardest decision is how long to stay in the water.

Home truths:
* The villa is built across two levels, so you'll be using the stairs regularly to move between the living areas upstairs and the three lower-floor bedrooms.
* Two of the lower-floor bedrooms are connected and share a bathroom rather than each having their own – we think this room works well for families.
* Housekeeping is provided daily except on Sundays and public holidays. Towels are swapped every two days and bed linen every three days.
