Ski-in/ski-out access to Whitefish Mountain Resort is the headline here – the nearest lift is a five-minute walk from the front door, with the free shuttle bus a two-minute stroll away. Back inside, floor-to-ceiling windows frame views of Chair 9 from a great room anchored by a fireplace and leather sofas, while the chef's kitchen is built for feeding a full house after a long day on the slopes. The private hot tub on the balcony seals the deal – here you can soak with mountain views as the light fades.

* At full occupancy, four guests will sleep in two bunk beds in the second living area.
*Bedroom three sleeps three guests in a single over double bunk bed.
* Ski-in/ski-out access here is weather-dependent and most reliable between late December and mid-February. Outside peak season you're still well placed – a five-minute walk gets you to the nearest run or lift, and the free S.N.O.W. bus stops just outside.
* The staircases here don't have handrails.
* A starter supply of essentials – soap, paper products, and dish and laundry detergent – is provided on arrival. Once these run out, you'll need to pick up your own supplies locally.
* On-site parking is available, so you won't need to hunt for a space – handy if you're arriving with ski gear or heading out to explore Glacier National Park.
