There are views across the countryside rolling from the private patio, while the living and dining space offer real character, as well as a log-burning stove – setting the tone for cosy evenings at home. And with two en-suite bedrooms and a welcome bottle of wine, this is a well-considered base for slow days in the fells.

* You'll need a car to get the most out of this location. There's free parking for up to two cars on the driveway.
* The living area and kitchen are upstairs, while both bedrooms are on the ground floor.
* The second bedroom is set up as a super king by default, but the beds can be separated into two singles. Fresh linens for the twin configuration are stored in the drawer under the bed – you can rearrange the room yourself during your stay without needing to contact your host.
* The log-burning stove comes with one eco log and a firelighter to get you started, but additional logs aren't provided.
* Well-behaved pets are welcome to join you upon request.
