A glass wall dissolves the boundary between the living areas and a covered lanai overlooking the Mauna Lani fairways – the kind of setup that makes alfresco dining feel effortless whatever the weather. Beyond the lanai, a private pool sits beneath swaying palms, and the main bedroom opens straight out to it. Community perks are generous – access to the KaMilo Recreation Center's pools and hot tubs, plus a staffed private beach club on the Kohala Coast. Hapuna Beach, one of Hawaii's great stretches of white sand, is about twenty minutes away by car.

* Due to this home's location, we recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay.
* The twin beds in the third bedroom can be combined into a king using a gel topper – let your host know in advance if you'd prefer that configuration.
* If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a Pack 'n Play, full crib, high chair, bed rails, toilet-training seat, step stool, baby monitors, swim belt, kids' kitchen items, bike trailers, and jogging strollers – all subject to availability, so request them ahead of time.
* Pool-area safety alarms are fitted on all ground-level sliding doors in line with county regulations – they're designed to sound if a door is left open, so expect them to activate if you're moving between the lanai and the pool area.
* You'll have access to the on-site swimming pools, hot tubs, children's pool, fitness centre and beach club here. They're shared with the resort's other guests.
