A 17th-century noble residence in the village of Visan, this villa carries centuries of Provençal history into every room – from the amber-lit reception rooms to a library nook where afternoon light pools in just right. Diego Delgado-Elias, celebrated in the AD100, has woven together old stonework and considered design without softening the home's historic character. Outside, a walled courtyard holds the pool and hot tub, with the garden opening to views of Mont Ventoux beyond. Vaison-la-Romaine's Roman ruins are a thirty-eight-minute drive, and the celebrated wine village of Gigondas is under an hour away.

* You'll need a car to make the most of the area – the nearest regional airport is in Avignon, 30 km away, and Marseille's international airport is 100 km from the home. Street parking is available outside.
* This is a grand, multi-room residence across several floors – expect to use the stairs regularly as you move between the banquet hall, drawing room, library, and sleeping quarters.
* The home sleeps up to sixteen guests across eight bedrooms – a mix of king beds and singles – making it well suited to large groups or multi-family stays.
* The swimming pool isn't fenced.
