The jungle here isn't a backdrop – it's the whole experience. Dense canopy presses right up against the living room windows, and the saltwater pool catches the last of the light as the sun drops through the trees at dusk. A shaded terrace makes alfresco dinners feel like eating in a clearing, and there's an on-site gym and hot tub when you need them. Tulum's Caribbean beaches are a ten-minute drive away, with the Mayan ruins perched dramatically above the sea reachable in thirty-one minutes on foot.

Home truths:
* If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair. You'll need to request these in advance.
* One bedroom has a bunk bed with a single-over-queen bed, which works well for children but may feel snug for adults
* La Veleta is compact enough to explore on foot, by bicycle, or scooter for daily meals and errands – but you'll want a car for the beaches, cenotes, and ruins nearby.
* The swimming pool is only available for use between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM.
* You'll have access to the on-site swimming pool, gym and gaming lounge here. They're shared with the building's other residents.
* While the home can sleep up to five people, the maximum occupancy is four guests.
