Ski-in/ski-out access at this centrally-located home means you can wake up and head straight onto Telluride's legendary terrain – and the free gondola connecting Mountain Village to historic Telluride is also just a short walk from the front door. After the slopes, the shared hot tub with mountain views is the obvious place to wind down, while the fireplace-centred living room, framed by expansive windows looking out at snow-capped peaks, makes it easy to stay put all evening.

Home truths:
* While the home can sleep up to eight people, including one on a pull-out bed in bedroom three and one on a sofa bed in the loft area, the maximum occupancy is seven guests.
* There's no lift in the building, so you'll be navigating stairs between levels with your ski gear and luggage.
* You'll have access to the on-site hot tub here, which is shared with the building's other residents.
* Ski-in/ski-out access here is condition-dependent – on low-snow days the run to and from the lifts may not be usable.
* Air conditioning isn't available here – it's rarely found in Telluride at this altitude, and the mountain climate generally keeps things cool.
* During winter, you may hear snowcats grooming the slopes at night – it's a low hum rather than a disruption, but worth knowing if you're a light sleeper.
* Free parking for one vehicle is included in the garage – if you're travelling in two cars, you'll need to arrange additional parking locally.
