Description The English Pearl: St Ives

Perched above Porthmeor Beach, this house is arranged so the living spaces catch the best of the Atlantic views – from the sea-view sitting room to a vaulted kitchen diner with balcony doors opening towards the ocean. Outside, a walled garden offers a sheltered retreat on sunny afternoons, while an outdoor fireplace makes evenings worth lingering over. St Ives Harbour, with its fishing boats, cafes, and pastel frontages, is a sixteen-minute walk, and the South West Coast Path is right on the doorstep – with body boards provided for when the surf calls.

Home truths:
* Parking in St Ives is notoriously hard to come by, but you'll have space for three or four cars on the driveway here – a genuine advantage if your group is arriving by car.
* Well-behaved dogs are welcome to join you here. Your host asks that they are well-behaved – there is a fenced garden, so they can roam safely outside.
* If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot, highchair, stair gates, and baby gear. You'll need to request these in advance to make sure everything is set up on arrival.
* The garden sits on a different level from the main lounge and kitchen-dining area.
