Perched on the heights of Anse des Cayes, this Balinese-inspired villa is built around the view – the open Caribbean stretches out from the covered terrace, the pool deck, and the living room alike, with trade winds keeping things cool as you linger over a long lunch or sink into the water. Six air-conditioned bungalow-style bedrooms fan out through a lush tropical garden, several with direct pool access. A private chef, yoga teacher, and daily housekeeping are all available on request, so the pace here is entirely your own. Gustavia's harbour and Shell Beach are within easy reach when you're ready to explore.

Home truths:
* The villa spreads across several separate bungalows, so three of the six bedrooms are in standalone cottages detached from the main building – worth keeping in mind when deciding who sleeps where.
* The sixth bedroom is on the mezzanine level and semi-open to the space below, so privacy is limited.
* Your host can provide a cot and high chair for little ones upon request – just bring your own cot linen.
* Housekeeping is provided daily except on Sundays and public holidays. Towels are swapped every two days and bed linen every three days.
