An 18th-century stone farmhouse set among the wooded hills of Umbria, this home has been restored with a careful eye. The curved pool sits within a garden where wildflowers and sun loungers invite afternoons that stretch on – and come evening, with the sun set basking the terrace in gold, it feels like something else altogether. Inside, a rustic stone kitchen and an open fire make slow days easy, while Umbria's medieval hill towns and Renaissance heritage lie within reach beyond the gate.

Home truths:
* The pool is only open between 1st May and 30th September, so if you're visiting outside those months, you won't be able to use it.
* The owner lives in the adjacent house. The two homes and their gardens are completely separate, but they're on hand if you need anything during your stay.
* If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair on request.
* For those with reduced mobility, there's a ground-floor bedroom and bathroom here. The other bedrooms are on the first and second floors.
* Air conditioning is only available in all bedrooms.
* Due to this home's location, we recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay. There's free parking for up to three cars on the driveway.
* Small, well-behaved pets are welcome to join you upon request.
