Mont Blanc fills the bay windows of this timber chalet in Saint-Gervais-les-Bains – a view you'll wake up to every morning from the light-drenched living space. Built from aged wood in traditional Alpine style, the interior centres on a wood-burning tunnel stove visible from both the living and dining areas, with a private sauna waiting after a day on the slopes. The villa sits within the Évasion Mont-Blanc ski domain, with over 400 km of slopes on your doorstep and a gondola link straight down to the village, while Megève is a twenty-minute drive away.

Home truths:
* A chalet nearby is currently under construction, so you may encounter some occasional noise during your stay. Works stop for the winter season, so if you're visiting on the slopes, you're unlikely to be affected – but it's worth checking in with your host at the time of booking for the latest update.
* If you're travelling with a baby or toddler, your host can provide a cot for your stay. Ask in advance to make sure it's ready on arrival.
* The gondola from Le Bettex drops you directly to the village centre and the SNCF train station, so you can get around without a car during the ski season. Outside of gondola operating hours, you'll want transport to hand for reaching Saint-Gervais or Megève.
* A complimentary mid-stay cleaning service is included for stays of 14 nights or more.
* There's no lift here. You'll need to be able to climb stairs to reach the entrance of the home. It may not suit guests with reduced mobility.
