Ochre Blooms

Tucked into a quiet Luberon hamlet a few kilometres from Roussillon's ochre cliffs, this Provençal home offers the kind of unhurried stay that's hard to pull off elsewhere. The heated pool sits alongside a shaded terrace made for long, alfresco dinners. Inside, a traditional fireplace anchors the living room, which opens directly onto the garden. Five air-conditioned bedrooms, plus a sixth ideal for children, mean there's space for everyone, and the fully enclosed grounds come with a pétanque court for those slow afternoon hours between meals.

Home truths:
* Only five of the six bedrooms have air conditioning. The one without air conditioning is the fifth bedroom, which has a superking bed that can be split into two singles on request. The living area and kitchen are also air-conditioned.
* The pool is heated and available from spring to autumn – pleases get in touch for the exact opening and closing dates.
* As is common in France, the toilets are separate from the bathroom. The main en-suite has a WC, but the other bathrooms are served by a separate WC in the hallway.
* You'll need a car in this location. One parking space is provided.
* For those with reduced mobility, there's a ground floor bedroom and bathroom here.
* While most of the bathrooms aren't photographed, expect the style and quality to be consistent with the rest of the home.
