Has a Brutalist spaceship touched down in Southern California? In reality, the immense, sixteen-foot-dome interiors of this home have more in common with reverent cathedral architecture than with sci-fi. Despite all the concrete, this is an undeniably inviting home – strategic skylights flood the space with light, while the sleek kitchen is sure to make cooking a joy. The circular patio brings the desert within touching distance (and, likely, the local wildlife, too) – the rugged Sawtooth Mountains are a dramatic backdrop to hot tub and pool dips, and the cushioned amphitheatre invites you to stargaze long into the night. During the day, trade one otherworldly atmosphere for another by walking into Pioneertown, a replica of an 1880s Western town.
