The cottage is located in the pretty village of Pooley Bridge, which sits on the River Eamont and beautiful Ullswater, and there are many country pubs serving good food and local beer nearby.
If you want to get out and explore the fells, or you are a keen cyclist or water sports enthusiast, then this is the perfect spot for you! Take a boat from the village to Howtown where you can walk to Glenridding and catch the boat back to Pooley Bridge. This was one of Wordsworth's favourite walks and offers views of Ullswater and Helvellyn.
