A swimming pool ringed by pines is the heart of this single-storey villa in the hills of Costa Nova, and it's easy to see why days here find their own unhurried rhythm. The outdoor kitchen and shaded terrace make staying outside effortless, while the log burner in the living room earns its keep on cooler evenings. Golden beaches and a medieval village are just a short drive away, with a fishing harbour and fresh seafood close by – though with a pedestrian gate opening straight into the pines, you may not want to leave.

* You'll need a car to make the most of your stay here – the villa sits in the pine hills above Jávea with no walkable shops or restaurants nearby, and the nearest beach is a ten-minute drive away. Parking is provided for two cars.
* Air conditioning is available between 1st April and 31st October only.
* For those with reduced mobility, there's a ground-floor bedroom and bathroom here. Keep in mind that though this is a single-storey home, there are a few small internal and external stairs.
* The lead guest must be at least 25 years old.
