Description Honeycomb in Gold: Painswick

Golden Cotswold stone, sweeping valley and village views from the first-floor terrace, and a landscaped cottage garden – this house is the kind of place that makes it hard to leave. Inside, a wood-burning fireplace anchors the lounge, surrounded by deep sofas, books, and board games for slow evenings in. The large farmhouse dining table lends itself to long, unhurried meals, and there's a dedicated boot-cleaning spot for returning muddy from the hills. Pets are welcome, parking is free, and the whole cottage is yours for the stay.

Home truths:
* Well-behaved pets are welcome to accompany you during your stay – the courtyard is even set up for washing muddy paws after a day out.
* The cottage sits right beside a sister hotel. Its guests and staff won't intrude on your stay, but the hotel team is nearby should you need any assistance.
* There may be the occasional locked cupboard that your host asks you to leave undisturbed – everything else in the cottage is yours to enjoy.
* Due to this home's location, we recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay.
