The calm, carefully dressed bedroom invites a proper night's sleep, and there's a desk if you need to catch up on work. Practical touches like in-unit laundry and air conditioning round things out nicely. Several subway lines are close by for easy city access, as are the restaurants, bars, cafes and shops that define this pocket of NYC.

* You're within easy reach of several subway lines, so getting around Manhattan without a car is easy. We recommend leaving the car at home – parking in Gramercy can be both scarce and expensive.
* Please note that New York City's heating season runs until the end of May. Beginning around mid-April through the summer, your host will install window air conditioning in the apartment – let them know if you'd like an earlier installation.
* The kitchen is compact. While it's well-appointed, we think it's better for light bites – though there are plenty of eateries nearby.
