Two apartments stacked on the fourth and fifth floors of a downtown building, this setup is ideal for groups wanting to stay close without living in each other's pockets. Each has a large private balcony facing 7th Avenue, with views stretching across to the Music City Center – and crucially, they face away from the freight tracks, so evenings out there are quieter than you'd expect this central. Shared fire pits, a seasonal pool with cabanas, and barbecue space give the group plenty of room to decompress. Bridgestone Arena is an eleven-minute walk, and the Gulch is right on the doorstep.

Home truths:
* Freight trains run directly behind the building and can be heard during your stay. Triple-glazed windows help reduce the noise, and your host provides sound machines and earplugs for added comfort.
* The building sits on the same block as a rescue mission, so you'll notice typical city foot traffic and a lively, mixed-use street scene outside – this is not a quiet or suburban setting.
* At full occupancy, four guests will sleep on sofa beds, with one located in each living area.
* One secured parking space per apartment may be available in the private upper-level garage on a first-come, first-served basis – it is not guaranteed.
* If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a pack-n-play and baby gate on request, subject to availability.
* While the fourth bathroom isn't photographed, expect the style and quality to be consistent with the rest of the home.
* You'll have access to the on-site gym and swimming pool. They're shared with the building's other residents.
