A penthouse apartment above downtown Nashville, with twenty-three-foot ceilings and a wraparound balcony that stretches roughly 1,000 square feet – it's an outdoor living room in the sky, with the city spread out below you. Floor-to-ceiling glass doors mean the skyline follows you into the main bedroom too, so the views don't stop when the evening does. Broadway's honky-tonks are a seventeen-minute walk, Bridgestone Arena is eleven-minutes on foot, and Music City Center is around nine – a central base for a group wanting to move easily between Nashville's best-known corners.

Home truths:
* Freight trains run on the track directly behind the building and can be heard from the apartment. Triple-glazed windows, sound machines, and earplugs are provided to help, but it's worth bearing in mind if you're a light sleeper.
* At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on day beds located in two of the bedrooms.
* The building sits on the same block as a rescue mission, so you'll encounter typical inner-city foot traffic and activity on the surrounding streets. The building itself is fully secure, but the area is lively and mixed-use rather than a quiet residential setting.
* If you're travelling with little ones, your host can arrange a pack-n-play and baby gate on request, subject to availability.
* Luggage storage with the concierge runs from 9:30am to 5:30pm only, and pickup must happen before 5:30pm.
* Your host can provide a parking permit for one vehicle.
* You'll have access to the on-site gym, swimming pool, and more. They're shared with the building's other residents.
