A gated acre in the heart of Miami, this house is built for groups who want to live well and spread out. By day, the lap pool glitters under the sun with loungers alongside it – come nightfall, palm trees glow purple, the fire pit draws everyone outside. When you do venture out, South Beach is a twenty-eight-minute drive and Wynwood Walls – Miami's open-air street art museum – is about twenty-three minutes by car.

Home truths:
* We recommend hiring a car for ease of getting around.There's free parking for up to six cars on the driveway.
* At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area and a further two guests will sleep on foldable single beds – we think this set-up is better suited to children.
* The pool is serviced on Wednesdays and the lawn is maintained on Thursdays, so you can expect a brief visit from the maintenance team each week during your stay.
* If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a travel cot and high chair. It's worth requesting these in advance to make sure everything is set up on arrival.
