Description Bamboo & Biscayne: Miami

Sitting on the fifth floor of a historic building, this Coconut Grove apartment puts you in one of Miami's most characterful neighbourhoods – steps from Barnacle Historic State Park and an easy walk to CocoWalk's shops and restaurants. The private balcony looks out over lush tropical greenery, and the pool below is the kind of spot you'll return to after a long afternoon exploring. Valet or self-parking is included for one vehicle, which matters here.

Home truths:
* At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area.
* The air conditioning unit is on the loud side – several guests have flagged it, particularly in the living area. It cools the apartment well, but light sleepers or anyone using the sofa bed may want to pack earplugs.
* You'll have access to the on-site pool, Jacuzzi, restaurant, and fitness centre here. They're shared with the building's other residents.
* Valet parking is included for one vehicle.
