Paradise on the Water

This is one of those dream homes in which the list of perks seems almost endless. The location on the western shore of Lake Como, for a start, is utterly dreamy and there are few spots on the grounds where you can't get a glorious view of dazzling blue water and verdant hillsides. Perhaps the best vantage point is in the heated infinity pool, but the Jacuzzi also runs it close. That's before we even mention the wisteria-covered pergola complete with a barbecue for alfresco feasts. Also outside, guests can make the most of the pool house, which contains a fitness room, sauna and steam bath, as well as a separate lounge and kitchen. Inside the main villa, there are touches of decadence everywhere, from the sunken baths and balconies to the home cinema room and wine cellar. As you wander about the gardens, you'll feel a sense of seclusion, but if you ever fancy a leisurely stroll that finishes with ice cream, the idyllic town of Menaggio can be reached in half an hour on foot.
