Description
Portobello Sunday: London
addremove
Tucked into a quiet gated mews just a one-minute walk from Portobello Road Market, this house puts one of London's most beloved streets essentially on your doorstep – antiques, street food, and independent boutiques without the commute. Three floors of light-filled rooms make for a comfortable base, and the main bathroom's bathtub is a welcome reward after a long day on your feet. Best of all, the roof terrace looks out over the Notting Hill rooftops – equally good for morning coffee as it is for an evening drink with the skyline turning gold.
Home truths:
* This is a three-storey home with no lift, so you'll be using the stairs a lot. If you're travelling with older relatives or guests with mobility considerations, it's worth bearing in mind.
* Your host can provide a cot and high chair for little ones upon request – just bring your own cot linen.
* Your host provides a starter supply of coffee, but you might want to bring your own to top this up. The nearest supermarket for stocking up is a two-minute walk away.
