We loved the living space, with its comfy couch sat plumb among woven-rattan accessories. The impression of nature extends to the bedrooms where linen bedspreads and cool tones evoke both steadiness and comfort. After an extra-long snooze on a slow-start morning, begin your day at the dining table with a traditional Portuguese breakfast put together in your modern kitchen.

Maintain your feeling of zen with a stroll around the Arco do Cego Garden, a two-minute walk away, before catching the metro into Lisbon’s downtown district – the journey takes no more than twenty minutes. Embark on a walking tour of the historic Alfama district, explore São Jorge Castle and tuck into pasteis de nata by the River Tagus. If you’re keen to swap the city for the sea, hop on the train to Cascais and enjoy a dip in the Atlantic.
