While the city of Lisbon is an explosion of colour down at street level, this apartment is pretty muted when it comes to interior design. The dominant colour palette of svelte greys and neutrals is contemporary in style, as are the sleek furnishings.

This restraint means that the pretty view of Santos from the private balcony really stands out. Straight head you can see treetops around a quiet public square while glancing to the left will give you an uninterrupted view of the River Tagus.

It must be said that the kitchen is a little rudimentary, but that needn't be a problem if you're planning to get acquainted with Lisbon's culinary scene. There's street food galore in the Time Out Market, only eight minutes' walk from the building, as well as plenty of restaurants along the riverfront. The National Museum of Ancient Art is only a thirteen-minute walk away, too.
