Cezanne & Stone

Hand-carved from dry stone by a master stonemason from Gordes, this bastide sits on nearly six hectares of olive groves, vineyards, and landscaped grounds in Le Puy-Sainte-Réparade – and the views of Mount Sainte-Victoire and the Luberon range are visible from almost every window. The outdoor infinity pool opens onto a south-facing terrace built for long Provençal afternoons, while an indoor pool and spa mean the season stretches well beyond summer. When the day winds down, a private cinema room waits on the garden level – and the Luberon's hilltop villages are about seventy-five minutes away by car.

Home truths:
* Air conditioning is only available in the main suite and the living room – the living room unit also cools the garden level. The other bedrooms rely on silent fans.
* For those with reduced mobility, there's a ground floor bedroom and bathroom here.
* If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a travel cot, high chair, and small baby bathtub at no extra charge. You'll need to request these in advance via the check-in form.
* You're set in open countryside, around a twenty-minute drive from Aix-en-Provence, so you'll need a car for groceries, restaurants, and day trips. The good news is there's a free carport with ten spaces on site, plus a reinforced socket in the garage for slow electric vehicle charging – bring your own cable or adapter if you need it.
