Playa Bonita Retreat

Tucked within a gated community, this villa puts Playa Bonita beach just steps from your door – a rare convenience when the sand calls early and often. Two pools sit amid tropical greenery for cooling off between beach trips, and a terrace bar makes sundowners easy work. The villa is well set up for larger groups, with breakfast and lunch included, and beach essentials ready to grab on the way out. When you're ready to venture further, Las Terrenas town offers colourful restaurants and market life, and Samaná Bay draws winter visitors for humpback whale watching.

Home truths:
* As is common in the Dominican Republic, the living space and kitchen are outdoors rather than inside.
* One of the bedrooms sleeps up to four people in two single beds and a single-over-single bunk bed – we think this room might be best suited to children.
* If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot, high chair, and changing table. You'll need to request them in advance.
* Pets are welcome to accompany you during your stay.
* Air conditioning is only available in the bedrooms.
* Daily housekeeping is included in your stay.
* Self check-in is handled by building staff on site, and there's a twenty-four-hour front desk within the gated community if you need anything on arrival or during your stay.
