Manta Ray Moon

Sitting right on the shoreline of Keauhou Bay, this villa delivers the kind of Pacific access most Hawaiian holidays only hint at – manta ray night dives, snorkelling, and paddleboarding are practically on the doorstep. The gated tropical grounds wrap around a pool shaded by palms, and a sunset-facing hot tub gives you a front-row seat to the evening sky. Inside, vaulted ceilings and custom wood craftsmanship keep the focus on the ocean beyond, with living spaces that open directly to the garden. Concierge services – from private chef dinners to yacht charters – mean the only real decision is how to spend the day.

Home truths:
* At full occupancy, eight guests will sleep on a double bed and three king-size beds in the three additional sleeping spaces.
* You'll want a car here. The villa is a short drive from Keauhou Shopping Center, local restaurants, and Kailua-Kona village, so having your own wheels makes getting around much easier.
* Ocean access and swimming depend on the tide and conditions on the day – the Pacific here is unpredictable, so always check conditions before heading in.
* The lead guest must be at least 21 years old.
