Perched on a promontory above Ischia Porto, this villa earns its keep the moment you step into the garden – ancient olive trees overhead, a private pool gleaming among the greenery, and wicker seating ready for long alfresco lunches. The two bedrooms each have their own bathroom, so there's real breathing room here. When evening comes, skip the restaurant entirely – a personal chef can come to you, and if the day's been long, sunset massage sessions can be arranged right at the villa.

* The swimming pool is only available for use between 1st May and 31st October.
* The villa is only reachable on foot – there's a short but steep ten-minute walk from the port, and the entrance isn't accessible by car. If you have heavy luggage or any difficulty with hills and stairs, it's worth planning ahead.
* If you're travelling with a baby or toddler, your host can provide a cot free of charge. You'll need to request it in advance.
* There's a separate sun deck with direct sea access a few minutes' walk from the villa – reached via stairs and an alley. It's a ladder entry into deep water rather than a beach, so it's best suited to confident swimmers.
