* There's no air conditioning here, so summer stays rely on natural ventilation and fans. If you're visiting during a warm spell, it's worth packing light layers for the evenings, when temperatures at this elevation tend to drop.
* You'll need a car to get around – the nearest shops and ski resorts are a short drive away, and street parking isn't permitted. On-site, there's room for six vehicles: two in the garage and four in the driveway.
* Four-wheel drive or snow chains may be necessary in winter – worth factoring in when planning your journey or hiring a vehicle.
* The beaches in Incline Village are private and not accessible to you as a guest here. Kings Beach, around 4.4 miles away, is the nearest publicly accessible shoreline.
* The gas barbecue on the upper deck is only available during the summer months, so if you're visiting in winter or shoulder season, you won't be able to use it.
