Inside, the design is clean and unfussy, with an open-plan living space that flows straight onto the terrace. Slide back the doors and let the mountain air drift in while you move between sofa, kitchen and sun lounger with ease. The ground-floor bedroom offers direct access to the yard and an ensuite bathroom, while upstairs, a flexible twin room opens onto a balcony with sweeping views across the plateau. Outside, the pool and barbecue area set the scene for long, easy evenings under wide Cretan skies – remote, peaceful and wonderfully removed from the rush of the coast.

*The villa is part of a small collection of three autonomous villas, so while your spaces are private, you may see neighbours nearby.

*Set at 780 metres altitude in the Sfakia region, the drive includes winding mountain roads – spectacular, but not for the faint-hearted.

*The nearest supermarket is around 5km away, so we’d recommend stocking up before settling in.

*The pool can be heated with three days’ notice; in July and August this comes at an extra cost.

*Street parking is available just outside the villa.

*Linens and bath and pool towels are provided. For stays of 5–7 nights, one cleaning service with fresh linens and towels is included; for longer stays, cleaning and linen changes are provided every 4 days.
