Set north of Joshua Tree near the quiet community of Landers, this desert cabin is a truly magical escape. Built on the bones of a 1964 homestead cabin, the contemporary home is calm and welcoming, with stunning views from all corners. We love the open-plan living area, where you can read books on the cosy sofas, create meals in the modern kitchen or simply sit and soak up the desert wilderness. The exteriors are equally spectacular, with a private pool and a fire pit for roasting s'mores or evening drinks. But it's the landscape itself that really steals the show. That and the spellbinding night skies.
Home truths:
*Due to this home's location, we recommend hiring a car to get the most out of your stay. While a four wheel drive is not required, be aware that many roads in the high desert are dirt and that roads will often have ruts, particularly after it rains.
*There is parking for up to four vehicles here and an EV charger is provided.
*At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area.
*Mobile phone service can be patchy in the high desert.
*The swimming pool doubles as a hot tub.
