Stepping into this Granada apartment, the first thing that slows you down is the building itself – a centuries-old stone-columned courtyard at its heart, the kind you don't find in modern holiday homes. The interior corrala-style terrace looks directly onto it, making it a natural spot for a quiet morning coffee. Inside, original beamed ceilings warm the living space, and there's room enough to gather properly around the dining table after a day out. You're planted right between the Cathedral, the Alhambra, and the Albaicín, so Granada's most compelling corners are practically on the doorstep.

Home truths:
* The centre of Granada is largely pedestrianised and parking is very limited – we recommend arriving by public transport or taxi and exploring the city on foot.
* At full occupancy, two guests will sleep on the sofa bed in the living area.
* The second bedroom sits on a lower level reached by a few steps down from the main living floor, making it the quieter and more private of the two rooms.
* If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair. You'll need to request them in advance.
* The only full bathroom here is the en-suite off the main bedroom. While guests staying in the second bedroom have access to a separate toilet, they'll need to use the main bedroom's en-suite for showering.
