This quintessential Florentine apartment should do nicely, set just two minutes from Piazza Santa Maria Novella and five from the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. While the interiors are utterly charming, a home of this heritage does have its quirks. Expect to climb stairs to reach the third floor and a mezzanine space accessed via a small ladder that is unsuitable for young children. It’s also worth noting there's a double sofa bed here and only room for two around the kitchen table. However, there’s heaps of space to spill out in the main living room with those high ceilings and views of the piazza below.
