It was love at first sight when we clapped our eyes on this dreamy hideaway set in the beating heart of Florence's historic centre. Set just a four-minute walk from the Piazza del Duomo (so close you can see the magnificent Dome from nearly every room of this home), the location couldn't be better if it tried.

Elegantly styled throughout and offering loft-style living at its finest, parquet flooring sweeps through the home to unite the space and restful, soft whites bring all the renaissance romance. For all the home's whimsical charms (think antique furniture and chandeliers), there's plenty of modern luxury too. Over in the bedroom, there's a king-sized bed worthy of any marquise and marquis and a newly renovated bathroom with a rainfall shower to kickstart your day.

After days of losing yourself to the city's ancient streets, spill out onto the linen-clad sofa and take in the ambience of the lofty living space with a few aperitifs and nibbles rustled up from the smart kitchen space.
