The living area opens onto a front veranda that catches the same sea views, while south-facing bedrooms, most with their own balconies, mean you're waking up to the horizon each morning. A separate games room annexe with a bar, billiards, and a built-in sauna keeps things entertaining when the sun goes down, and Calheta's sandy beach is 3 kilometres away.

* Due to the location of this home, we recommend hiring a car for ease of getting around.
* The fourth bedroom has two single beds rather than a fixed double, but your host can make them up as one double if you prefer – just let them know in advance.
* If you're travelling with little ones, your host can provide a cot and high chair at no extra charge. You'll need to request them in advance. Note that cot linen isn't provided.
* Pool and garden maintenance takes place during your stay – the exact days and times will be confirmed at check-in, so you'll know when to expect someone on site.
