Here you'll be surrounded by peaceful countryside and iconic mountains, and about as far from the madding crowd as it gets.

Perfect as a romantic retreat, this home has some of the most breathtaking views we've seen in inland Greece, and the best place to enjoy them is the covered terrace, where you can eat your meals in the open air. You can literally see for miles, across the mountains and the town below.

Inside, it's a traditional and comfortable home with a fireplace and squashy sofas to relax on. There's a practical kitchen and a choice of places to eat together, and we particularly love the bedroom with its romantic canopy and access out to the terrace. If you've been out hiking or exploring the nearby UNESCO World Heritage Site, relax your aching muscles with a long soak in the Jacuzzi bathtub, and pad down to the hammock in the shared garden with a good book.

History lovers will be in the element here, with the archaeological site at Olympia being one of the most impressive in the world. And it's just a walk or a quick drive down to Pisa, where you'll find shops and restaurants. You can even head for a day out on the coast, with excellent beaches just a half-hour drive away.
