Sitting on the third floor of a beachfront complex on Barbados's west coast, this apartment puts you directly above Paynes Bay Beach – calm, clear water and resident sea turtles just steps from the door. A covered terrace with a plunge pool and sun loungers faces the Caribbean Sea, and the main suite opens onto its own private patio with the same views. A housekeeper and cook are on hand six days a week, a beach butler sets up your spot on the sand daily, and the communal pool – tucked into tropical gardens with a waterfall – is there for the slower hours.

Home truths:
* A housekeeper and cook is with you six days a week (9am to 4pm), preparing breakfast and light lunch — Sundays are their day off, so you'll want to plan ahead for that morning. An assistant housekeeper joins at full occupancy, also six days a week.
* You'll need to contact the property manager at least 14 days before arrival to arrange check-in and confirm your flight details — it's worth doing this well in advance to make sure everything is in place for your arrival.
* The apartment is on the third floor and is reached by lift.
* For check-ins between 20th December and 10th January, please contact us. Cancellations made 60 or more days before check-in would be eligible for a 50% refund. Cancellations made less than 60 days before check-in would not be eligible for a refund.
