Set in the rolling hills of Colognola ai Colli, approximately 20km east of Verona, this charming converted annexe is situated on the grounds of an elegant and imposing 18th-century Venetian villa.

Your hosts have converted the space from its humble hayloft origins into a lovely rural retreat where we can imagine whiling away sun-soaked weeks with family and friends. From relaxed breakfasts on your private patio to sunbathing sessions in the garden and refreshing dips in the communal pool, this home is perfect for those looking to disconnect, de-stress and enjoy a slice of la dolce vita.

When you're not lying by the pool, the area is dotted with family-run vineyards, where you'll be greeted like long-lost family should you stop by for a tasting session. Alternatively, follow in the footsteps of star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet on a trip to Verona, approximately half an hour away, continue to the shimmering waters of Lake Garda, or head 100km or so in the opposite direction to the storied city of Venice.

*Given the home's remote location, we'd recommend having access to a car – there's ample on-site parking
*Access to the home is via a private entrance
*The bedrooms are located on the first floor without lift access, so the home may not be suitable for those with limited mobility
*The garden and pool are shared with other residents
*Please note that the pool is unheated and open seasonally from the beginning of April to the middle of October
